Our Purpose Statement
Cookin' for Christ
is a ministry devoted to using food and it's preparation as an activity of fellowship through unity of Spirit within our various
church families, giving thanks to the Lord for His abundant Grace. The pleasant memories of food and its preparation
will give people of the world and children of God a common portal of opportunity to recieve and spread the gospel
calling of Jesus Christ (1Corinthians 15:1-4) through fellowship. Witnessing
through service and the act of giving to those who are in need, fulfills a vision as seen in 1John
3:17-18. Believers can now plant into followers, seeds of love and Christian family values.
Acts 2:42-47 tells us that the breaking of bread, one with another, sparks
the growth of friendships and affections, binding us into cords of unity that cannot be easily broken. The increased
zeal of coming together in Christian fellowship will let spiritual lights shine before men. Witness is given to those
living in darkness, providing opportunity of God's salvation through the living waters of Christ Jesus.
Fellowship and brotherly kindness now yields to brotherly love...mature spiritual wisdom instructs those of
youthful learning...spiritual strength lifts those who are weak...and spiritual insight guides those who cannot yet see.
These interactions ignite fires of spiritual fullness toward brotherly love through Christ's commandment as seen in the gospel of
John 15:12 ("Love each other as I have Loved you."). As these seeds of
brotherly love grow, we then start to carry each other's burdens, thus fulfilling the law of Christ in Galatians
6:2.
The Lord's blessing of monies through your generous love offerings
will allow Cookin' for Christ a mission outreach of God's love to those in strongholds of oppression and affliction (i.e.
homeless, sick, weak, elderly, shut-ins, etc.). The feeding of these sheep will seal them into a singleness of heart,
showing God's love for them and our sincere hope of returning them to the flock, that they may be adopted into Christ's family
of believers.
